Due to on-going health concerns, we have decided to put the Midpoint Cafe and Gift Shop up for Sale. If interested in owning an iconic Route 66 business and being a part of the best road tour in the United States, please contact Dennis via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or via telephone at 615-330-8118.
Effective October 3rd, our normal business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Central Time), 7 days per week. However, the kitchen is now CLOSED for the 2016 season. The gift shop will remain open until 4 p.m. and we will continue to serve pie, baked goods, and drinks all day.
Please note that if you are traveling east from New Mexico, the time changes at the NM / TX state line (we are one hour ahead of NM).
Welcome to the offical webpage of the MidPoint Cafe and Gift Shop. We are located at the traditionally accepted halfway point of Historic Route 66, the midpoint between Chicago and Santa Monica. Accross the street from the cafe is the "Welcome To The Midpoint" sign, one of the top photographed signs along Route 66. We are also the ONLY place on Route 66 to get Midpoint RT66 Gifts and Souvenirs, so please stop in and see our gift shop inside the cafe. We have been told by many visitors that the MidPoint Cafe and Gift Shop has one of the best gift shops along all of Route 66. Come see for yourself!!!
To date for the 2016 season (April 1 through October 2), we have had folks from 77 countries visit the Midpoint Cafe and Gift Shop. During our 2015 season (8 months), we had visitors from 80 countries and all 50 States in the US stop by and visit the Midpoint Cafe and Gift Shop (yes; folks from 80 countries signed our guest book)!!! In 2014, we had visitors from 72 countries.
Home of the MidPoint "Ugly" Pies!
"Nothing Real Ugly, Just Real Yummy!!!
Completely homemade and one of the best pie crusts you'll ever taste. We try to have at least eight (8) different flavored pies available each day, from fruit pies like apple, peach, or cherry, to our cream pies, including coconut, chocolate, and peanut butter/chocolate cream. We also served Chocolate "Elvis" Cream Pie (chocolate cream with peanut butter and banana), banana cream pie, and several vanilla / fruit swirl pies. We also do a fanatstic and delicious "Texas Pecan" pie, and our house specialty, a chocolate chip and pecan pie which when warmed, tastes like a large chocolate chip cookie straight out of the oven. We are adding another 8 different flavor pies to our offering this year and now offer a Tennessee whiskey chocolate pecan pie. We try to have least 4 pie flavors that are standard every day, (coconut, apple, Texas Pecan, and chcoclate cream being our daily staples) and another 4 flavors (minimum) changing every few days.
So stop by and try a slice! Maybe top it off with a scoop of vanilla bean, choclate, or cookies & cream ice cream...YUMMY!!!
Our normal business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., 7 days per week. Please remember that we are on Central Time, so if you are travelling east from New Mexico, you change time (lose an hour) at the New Mexico / Texas state line. So please plan accordingly.
We are open April 1 through the end of October. For 2016, our planned last day open will be October 30th. We will be closed November through the end of March (the winter months)...
