We are now open for the 2015 season!!
Our normal business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Central Time), 7 days per week. The grill closes at 3 p.m.
We will be closed on Monther's Day (Sunday, may 10th) so that our mom's that work in the cafe can spend the day with their family. We will reopen Monday morning at 8:30.
We have revamped our gift shop, including a fresh new paint job and replaced the old carpet with a new "old" wood laminate flooring. Totally restocked with new items continually coming in every week, including exclusive Midpoint Items!!
Welcome to the offical webpage of the MidPoint Cafe and Gift Shop. We are located at the traditionally accepted halfway point of Historic Route 66, the midpoint between Chicago and Santa Monica. Accross the street from the cafe is the "Welcome To The Midpoint" sign, one of the top photographed signs along Route 66. We are also the ONLY place on Route 66 to get Midpoint RT66 Gifts and Souvenirs, so please stop in and see our gift shop inside the cafe. We have been told by many visitors that the MidPoint Cafe and Gift Shop is one of the best gift shops along all of Route 66. So see for yourself!!!
During our 2014 season (between re-opening on April 01, 2014 and closing on November 09th), we had visitors from 72 countries and 49 States in the US stop by and visit the Midpoint Cafe and Gift Shop (yes; folks from 72 countries signed our guest book)!!!
Home of the MidPoint "Ugly" Pies!
"Nothing Real Ugly, Just Real Yummy!!!
Completely homemade and one of the best pie crusts you'll ever taste. We try to have at least six (6) different flavored pies available each day, from fruit pies like apple, peach, or cherry, to our cream pies, including coconut, chocolate, and peanut butter/chocolate cream. New for 2014, we also served Chocolate "Elvis" Cream Pie (chocolate cream with peanut butter and banana), banana cream pie, and several vanilla / fruit swirl pies. We also do a fanatstic and delicious "Texas Pecan" pie, and our house specialty, a chocolate chip and pecan pie which when warmed, tastes like a large chocolate chip cookie straight out of the oven.
So stop by and try a slice! Maybe top it off with a scoop of vanilla bean ice ice cream...YUMMY!!!
We are also known for our all fresh delicious burgers, that even the local ranchers keep coming back to feast on!!! Always fresh, never frozen patties of Angus Beef. But remember, we are located in Texas, so our portions are big, like everything is in Texas!!!
We are also open for breakfast.
Our normal business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., 7 days per week.
The grill closes every day at 3:30 p.m.
We are open April through early-November, and typically closed for the season the remainder of November through the end of March (the winter months)... We do need to close sometimes for short periods during the day (i.e. due to pre-scheduled tours or something similar, so please call ahead (806-538-6379) to see if we have any tours scheduled when you may be visiting. However, please be aware, that sometimes we do not know more then 24-hours in advance of tours. In 2104, we only closed the cafe portion of the business for one large bus tour!!!
Our website is under construction and will be growing! Keep checking back!!
